Removing some wet carpet

Removing some carpet today! SERVPRO went to a job where the homeowners carpet needed to be removed because of water damage. If carpet has been wet for longer than 72 hours it is a good time to consider replacing it. Mold takes no longer than 72 hours to form and spread making it difficult to clean thoroughly after that time. If mold begins to spread that you will be in for a lot of other issues.
However, there are steps you can take to hopefully avoid removing the carpet.
- Remove water as quickly as possible
- Use fans to speed up carpet drying process
- Use a dehumidifier to dry out the room
- Steam clean carpet and flooring
